Japanese Chiyogami Paper [ Accent | Envelope Liner | Reply Card Envelope Liner ]

Japanese Chiyogami paper is silkscreened by hand onto machinemade sheets of mixed kozo and sulphite. Because each colour is applied individually, the pigments are exceptionally rich.* The colours are layered, not mixed so you can physically feel the different inks on the paper. The gold and silver inks are luminous, like actual metal.

Originally based on the patterns one would see on a kimono, Chiyogami was meant to be cut into pieces and made into paper dolls or pasted on small boxes which is why the patterns are so contained.** These silkscreened repeating patterns make an ideal focal point for invitations.
