Obi : reply cards [ Invitations ]

Traditionally, reply cards were not sent with invitations. The recipient of the invitation would reply using their own monogramed stationary. Today, it is considered rude not to include a reply card of some kind, or at least instructions on how your guests should can communicate their intentions. Don't forget to add the cost of a stamp for your reply card to your budget.

If you decide to use reply cards, they will be made to match the options you select for your invitations. Your reply card can say anything you like. You will be asked to supply your reply card text during the order process.

Titles for your reply card could be "Kindly Reply", "Please Respond", or "Are You Coming?" as well as the more standard examples below. The following are examples of reply card text to help you.

Traditional

The traditional reply includes a space for the guest to write their name after indicating their title (Mr. or Mrs. or Ms.) and provides a space for them to check if they accept the invitation or send their regrets.

The French title used ("Repondez S'il Vous Plait") is what the acronym RSVP stands for and translates directly to "Please Reply".

Always include a date that your guests should reply by. It's best to confirm with a phone call rather than assume they are not coming, if your guests don't reply on time.

Modern

A more modern example abandons the title component of the traditional RSVP and offers a more straight-forward form. Here, it is clear that boxes should be checked.

It is common to provide a menu option on the reply card. This is also a good place to ask if anyone has any dietary restrictions or food allergies.
